How many times in your life have you decided to do something, did it for a few days and then stopped? I have done this over and over. It seems like this process has become a habit for me. I know I need to break the habit but something is holding me back.
Back in July, I attended a national training event in Miami. This particular training event is called Bootcamp. The entire program is based on military type instruction and mindset. The first instructor took the stage talked about going into battle. He said, “People don’t have what they want because they are not willing to face and win the battle. If we want to win, we have to go into the battle.”
Greetings! Today I would like to talk about Insanity. Growing up, I have always been taught that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. What things are you continuing to do in your life over and over and expecting a different result?
Perhaps you play the lottery. Are you spending money in hopes that some random number generator machine will pick your lucky numbers and change your life forever? Do you spend your hard earned money playing week after week, year after year? Do you not consider that to be insane?
Greetings! I took my wife to the theater. On this particular night, instead of one long show, they decided to entertain us with about 12 small individual skits. Most of them were great, but there was one in particular that I found most irritating. The entire time I was watching this skit I wanted to yell out, “Network Marketing”. Let me explain what the skit was about and you will quickly see why.
The scene starts with heaps of papers sitting on a table. Then as the lights come on, a lady enters the stage. She walks to the table and starts looking at the papers one at a time, all while talking about how much debt they have and how they can’t afford anything. Continue Reading
Greetings! We have all heard the saying, “Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day. But teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime.” When I was a kid, I spent a lot of time at my grandpa’s lake house fishing. From the first time I heard this saying, it has resonated with me. I was not a very good fisherman, but I knew the basics. I was taught how to add string to the fishing pole, add weights and a bobber, and how to add a hook and worm. Knowing all of this, I could get the hook in the water, but I was never very successful at actually catching anything. Then again, I am not the kind of person that can just sit down for hours watching a bobber go up and down on the waves! I caught a few fish in my day but was by no means an expert.
Like most people I am constantly faced with procrastination. I somehow find something much more fun to work on other than doing what needs to be done. So when I found this article I thought it was worth sharing it on my blog.
The Guide to Productivity That Will Change Your Life
Greetings! I read a book called ‘The Millionaire Dropout’ by Vince Stanzione. The book is great and has tons of self-improvement ideas. One jumped out at me that I would like to share. He said that many people wait until something disastrous happens in their life before they decide to take action.
It is kind of like knowing that you need to go see the dentist but decide to put it off. Then one day you have this constant annoying pain. You start flossing more, and using Sensodyne® toothpaste, and even numbing gel to ease the pain. Eventually the pain is too much and you take action and book a dentist appointment. You know that you could have prevented it by going to the dentist every six months, but instead you chose to wait until you experienced pain.
Greetings! Today I would like to briefly talk about leaders. I ran across this meme and just had to share it. In this industry, we are all striving to become better leaders. We start building our teams on our own and it can grow without us being leaders. However, to hit higher ranks in the company we must learn to become leaders.
For many years, I thought leadership was only for certain kinds of people. The image I had in my head of what a good leader looked like was not how I thought of myself. However, over the years of reading books on success, leadership, personal development, etc… I began to realize that being a leader is nothing like I imagined. It all boils down to leading people just like in the picture. If people are following you, then you are leading them, which means you are a leader. Being a good or bad is leader is up to you!
Greetings! Today I would like to talk about Leverage. Leverage can be used to make money in many different industries. If you like to build your wealth using Real Estate, then you buy homes using the least amount of your own money as possible and finance the rest. You put a tenant in the house and that tenant pays you monthly rent which you then use to pay the mortgage and related expenses. Then you keep what is remaining as cash flow. Using this scenario you are leveraging ‘other people’s money’ so that you can cash flow.
Greetings! Today I want to talk about a real, down to earth hit, you hard, subject. It is a total mindset and personal development subject. At some point in your life, you end up in a situation, either business or personal, where you finally figure out that you are dabbling instead of dominating. Today, let’s look at some things in your life that you are currently dabbling in when you should be dominating it.
As we get older, our metabolism slows down, we eat a little more, drink some not so healthy drinks. Slowly putting on a few pounds over a few years, and before we know it we are 20, 40, maybe 80 pounds overweight. We tell ourselves that tomorrow we will start a diet. Maybe there is a birthday party this weekend and you love cake, so you put off starting the diet until next week. With this attitude, days go by, months go by, because you are simply dabbling with the idea.
Greetings! Today I would like to talk about another law from the book I’m reading called, “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership.” This law is called the Law of Buy-In. This means that if you want to lead people, they first need to buy into you before they buy into the vision of where you are going to lead them. So many times, people want to simply cast vision of where they are going, but get no results. The reason is the person they are casting vision to has not bought into them.
